Flag-Soprema - an introduction

Early Soprema factory sceneA worldwide market leader

We are confident of our future and very proud of our past. The Soprema group has been around for over a 100 years, and we intend to be here for the next 100 years too.

The group’s founder, Charles Geisen, invented the Mammoth Membrane, the forerunner of BS747 felts. In 1933, his son Pierre Geisen, invented metal-faced membranes.

The current group’s chairman, Pierre Etienne Bindschedler, is the third generation of the founding family. Under his leadership Flag-Soprema has become a world leader in the development and manufacture of waterproofing products, rooflights, smoke extractors and roofing ancillaries. Our long-standing track record worldwide is proof of the performance and quality of our products.

In 2007, Soprema acquired the single ply manufacturer Flag SpA making us one of the largest independent manufacturers in the world. In the UK, we have combined the two entities to form a new company, Flag-Soprema UK Ltd.
